FORMER Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland has surprised fans with the reveal of her cover of Women’s Health’s October issue in the United States, but the singer was trending on the tongues of social media users this week for a totally different reason.

The 39 year-old singer posed on the beach for the cover shot by Djeneba Aduayom, wearing an orange dress and displaying her baby bump. She made the reveal when she posted her cover image on Instagram.

The singer is married to businessman Tim Weatherspoon, and the couple have a son named Titan. The couple had spoken of expanding their family and to Rowland’s surprise, she got pregnant right away.

Rowland told Women’s Health that she was hesitant to disclose her pregnancy during America’s nationwide racial unrest, insecure economy and the coronavirus pandemic, however she ultimately decided to reveal her announcement and gratitude.

“You still want to remind people that life is important”, she said. “Being able to have a child…I’m knocking 40’s door in February. Taking care of myself means a lot to me”.

Rowland also divulged that she was worried about her fans being disappointed in her announcement, due to her fanbase wanting another album. “I was like, ‘I have to figure this out so they get both’”.

The four-time Grammy winner did confirm in her interview that she is planning to release a fifth solo album, one which she emphasized would display her desires for her songs to touch on personal experiences that have made her whole, such as reuniting with her biological father whom she hadn’t seen in 30 years.

“I’m learning so much about myself and the things that I missed”, Rowland said. “You say, ‘I’m fine, I’m fine’ – and yeah, I’m fine – but there are things that I would have liked to have experienced from a father. That’s where the music piece comes in: “I like to touch on everything. I want to feel very organic, coming from me”, she continued.
