PSG Femelle midfielder arrested

PSG (Paris Saint Germain) midfielder Aminata Diallo, 26, was arrested Wednesday morning at her home in Yvelines by investigators from Versailles SRPJ. Diallo is being held in connection with an assault on her PSG teammate Kheira Hamraoui, 31.

Hamraoui was reportedly dragged out of her car in the middle of the street and assaulted by two masked men. Lequipe reports that Diallo was present in the car at the time of the attack and is currently in police custody.

The French international’s last game for the defending Ligue 1 Champions came in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group-stage  – A dominant 4-0 win against Spanish club Real Madrid. Diallo featured for 89 minutes in the decisive victory.

PSG released a statement commenting on the proceedings “Paris Saint-Germain can confirm that Aminata Diallo was taken into custody this morning by the Versailles Regional Police Service as part of the proceedings opened following an attack on the club’s players last Thursday evening.

“Paris Saint-Germain condemns in the strongest possible terms the violence committed.

“Since Thursday evening the club has taken all necessary measures to guarantee the health, well-being and safety of its entire women’s team.

“Paris Saint-Germain is working with the Versailles Police to clarify the facts. The club is paying close attention to the progress of the proceedings and will study what action to take.”
