African champions Ivory Coast held to draw by Benin

Oumar Diakite scored a second-half equaliser to spare the blushes of newly-crowned African champions Ivory Coast who were held to a 2-2 draw by Benin in a friendly in Amiens, France. It was the first game for coach Emerse Fae since his side lifted the Cup of Nations title on home soil last month, but they had to come behind twice to draw after a lacklustre performance. Al-Ahly win record-extending Egyptian League in a perfect season

AFRICAN Champions Al-Ahly secured a record-extending 43rd Egyptian League title, without playing, as their closest rivals Pyramids were beaten 2-1 by Ceramica Cleopatra. Al-Ahly, who won a record-extending 11th title in African Champions League last month, have now clinched five titles since last October with coach Marcel Koller enjoying his first season in Egypt. FIVE-TIME African champions Zamalek suffered another blow in a chaotic season as a local administrative court in Egypt ordered the removal of club president Mortada Mansour, days after the team appointed Colombian coach Juan Carlos Osorio.
