SOUTH Africa will urgently conduct an assessment of petroleum products supply,  after the country's second-largest crude oil refinery shut down following a fire, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has announced. The 120,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Engen refinery in Durban, majority-owned by Malaysia's Petronas, ceased operations as investigations started into the cause of the fire on Friday. ROGAN WARD and WENDELL ROELF South Africa's second-largest crude oil refinery, the Engen plant in Durban, has been shut down to allow investigators a chance to find out the cause of a "fire incident" earlier on Friday, Engen said. AT least seven workers were injured and damage expected to run into millions of rands incurred, after a massive explosion rocked South Africa's second-largest crude oil refinery in Durban today.
