Angry French farmers storm into agriculture fair in Paris

A group of French farmers stormed into a major Paris farm fair ahead of a planned visit by President Emmanuel Macron amid anger over costs, red tape and green regulations. Sudanese protester killed after being shot in the chest, medics say

A protester was killed in the Sudanese capital Khartoum after being shot in the chest by security forces during a demonstration, medics aligned with the protest movement said. The protester was the 118th person killed in protests since a military coup about one year ago, and the first since August 31. Police media officials could not be reached for comment. Senegal records first Omicron case in tourist who attended demonstration

SENEGAL has recorded its first case of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in a tourist who attended a demonstration in the capital Dakar last month with about 300 people of varying nationalities, testing lab IRESSEF said on Sunday. The 58-year-old man was visiting from another West African country and tested positive when leaving Senegal on Friday. He is under quarantine and has no symptoms, the lab said in a statement.
