SUSPECTED Islamist militants killed 26 people with machetes in an overnight attack in the town of Oicha in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, its mayor and the army said on Tuesday. They attributed the killings to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a group originally from Uganda, now based in eastern Congo, which has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State militant group and mounts frequent attacks. ERIKAS MWISI KAMBALE SUSPECTED Islamists killed 10 people in a raid on a village in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and kidnapped several others, local authorities and a witness said. The attack, in which assailants used machetes, occurred in the village of Mabule, around 25 km (16 miles) south-east of Beni, the sources said.
