Finance minister’s kitchen dance provides comic relief

SOUTH African Finance Ministers is a man of many talents. He is widely respected for his economic insights and leadership.

Mboweni skills in the kitchen are legendary and are as deeply appreciated as is his frank political views about difficult political issues, often shared on Twitter. 

However, the social media community is clear that Mboweni needs some dancing lessons or stick to the pots and pans in the kitchen.

 His latest Twitter posting, an attempt to join the millions across South Africa and the world dancing to the viral hit #Jerusalema, has left many in stitches. Other than the uncoordinated moves, Mboweni committed the cardinal sin by posting the video without sound.

Mboweni posted footage of him and his son’s shuffling in the kitchen in an attempt to execute the dance that has taken the world by storm. “Jerusalema with the boys!,” Mboweni exclaimed, in a post that attracted over 10 000 views and was retweeted over 2500 times.

@Thabang Mofokeng’s tongue-in-cheek response was: “You dance as well as you cook, Minister.”

@Zohra Teke loved what she saw: “Music or not. Ur the best finance minister we’ve had. Love that you keep it real! Keep it up.”

@Wonga Mlumisi was not impressed. “All three of you still needs a lot of practice.”

@Masquda Motala was more impressed by the kitchen than the Mbowenis dance moves.”Such as beautiful kitchen..”
