GirlCode launches Pan-African Hackathon to empower women in tech

GIRLCODE, a leading organization dedicated to empowering women in technology, is excited to announce its upcoming Pan-African Hackathon, taking place from August 31st to September 1st. This groundbreaking event aims to bring together talented female technologists from across the continent to develop innovative solutions that address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The hackathon is made possible through the generous support of our Gold Sponsors: Vumatel, Chenosis, NinetyOne, BET Software, iKhokha, VML, and Boxfusion. This hackathon would not be possible without their commitment.

For the third consecutive year, TakeALot Group is our dedicated prize sponsor, providing laptops and tech gadgets to our winning teams. Additionally, headline sponsor Chenosis is offering hackathon winners the incredible opportunity to attend an International Women in Tech conference. Their support in empowering women and driving technological innovation is invaluable.

The two-day intensive hackathon will provide participants with a unique opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals, learn from industry experts, and showcase their technical skills. By tackling pressing global challenges, participants will have the chance to create a positive impact on their communities and contribute to a more sustainable future.

“We are thrilled to host our first Pan-African all women hackathon and provide a platform for women to shine,” said Zandile Mkwanazi, CEO of GirlCode. “By bringing together top talent and industry leaders, we aim to inspire and empower the next generation of female technologists.”

GirlCode invites talented female technologists from across Africa to join us in this transformative event. GirlCode aims to build a strong pipeline of female tech leaders and drive positive change across the continent.
