VOLKSWAGEN has confirmed its redesigned T-Roc compact SUV will arrive in South Africa during the second half of 2026, bringing SIGNIFICANT improvements in size, technology and interior space.
The second-generation model represents a substantial evolution of one of the German manufacturer’s best-selling vehicles globally, with over two million first-generation units sold worldwide since 2020.
The new T-Roc has grown considerably, measuring 4,373mm in length – 122mm longer than its predecessor. The wheelbase has also been extended by 28mm to 2,631mm, creating noticeably more interior room for passengers and cargo.
Boot space has increased by 30 litres to 475 litres, whilst the vehicle now accommodates wheels up to 20 inches, compared to the previous 19-inch maximum.
Built on Volkswagen’s MQB evo platform – the same architecture underpinning the larger Tiguan and Tayron – the T-Roc inherits several premium features previously reserved for higher-segment models.
Key technological additions include optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, a windscreen head-up display, and the latest Digital Cockpit Pro infotainment system. The R-Line specification will offer 14-way electrically adjustable ergoActive seats with massage function, bringing luxury-class comfort to the compact SUV segment.
The new T-Roc features a completely redesigned front and rear, with illuminated VW logos at both ends. LED headlights are now standard, with optional matrix units connected by a slim LED strip across the grille.
At the rear, a full-width LED light bar incorporates an illuminated red VW emblem as its centrepiece.
