Ethnic killings in one Sudan city left up to 15,000 dead, UN report says

BETWEEN 10,000 and 15,000 people were killed in one city in Sudan's West Darfur region last year in ethnic violence by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied Arab militia, according to a United Nations report seen by Reuters. Arab fighters killed babies, boys and men in war on Sudan tribe, mothers allege

THE Arab militiamen were hunting for boys that day. That’s how they found 2-year-old Ibrahim Saleh. Ibrahim, his baby sister and their mother, Safaa Abdel Karim, were on the run in June, fleeing a weeks-long massacre in the Sudanese city of El Geneina. 50 dead, 132 injured in Sudanese city of El Geneina

SUDAN’S government has declared a state of emergency in West Darfur state after at least 50 people were killed and 132 injured in three days of tribal clashes in its capital El Geneina, according to the United Nations. The incident is the latest in a resurgence of violence in the Darfur region since the signing of a peace agreement late last year and the withdrawal of U.N. peacekeepers. 83 dead after militia attack in West Darfur

SOME 83 people have died and 160 people are injured after militia attacks on the West Darfur city of El Geneina in Sudan, a local doctors' union has disclosed. Violence has increased in Darfur in recent months, and two weeks after U.N. peacekeepers stopped patrolling the region ahead of a full withdrawal.
