Kenya, Uganda win Olympic gold medals

AFRICAN MIRROR REPORTER KENYA and Uganda have delivered more medals for Africa - two gold, a silver and a bronze - at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. Kenya won the gold and silver in the 800m when Emmanuel Korir won the men's final in 1:45.06, ahead of teammate Ferguson Rotich, the race favourite, who came in second at 1:45.23. Tunisia wins Africa’s 1st gold Olympic medal

AFRICA has got her first Olympic 2020 medal and it is gold. Tunisia's Ahmed Hafnaoui shocked the swimming world with a stunning victory in the men's 400m freestyle final. The 18-year-old, who qualified with the slowest time and swam the final in the outside lane, won by 0.16 seconds, with Australia's Jack McLoughlin taking silver and the USA's Kieran Smith bronze.
