Cardi B calls it quits with rapper Offset

African Mirror Reporter

IT looks like the end of the road for American hip-hop couple Cardi B and Offset after two years of marriage.

Reports from American tabloid Hollywood Unlocked stated that Cardi B officially filed for divorce from Migos’ rapper on September 15, noting that the divorce petition was filed with the Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta.

The petition also showed documents of Cardi B seeking primary custody of their two-year-old daughter Kulture, and for Offset to pay child support

According to Cardi and her legal team in the documents, the team stated that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and “there are no prospects for a reconciliation.”

The ‘WAP’ rapper , 27, and Offset, 28, made their relationship official in 2017 when they secretly wed in September and went public with their marriage in early 2018. The couple then welcomed their daughter, Kulture, in July 2018.

The couple had hit a rough patch in 2018 amid cheating rumours, which were allegedly squashed when Offset crashed Cardi B’s Rolling Loud set in 2018 to beg for her forgiveness. The divorce filing comes just a few days shy of the pair’s third wedding anniversary.

“When me and my husband got into our issues – you know, he cheated and everything – and I decided to stay with him, a lot of people were so mad at me; a lot of women felt disappointed in me”, she told Vogue for her and Kulture’s January 2019 cover story.

“But it’s real life s–t. If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you’re depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation”.

The pair’s court hearing is set for Wednesday, November 4.
