THE South African TV, film and theatre community is today mourning the passing of actress Shalene Surtie-Richards.
Surtie-Richards, 66, was best known for her role in, among others, M-Net series Egoli: Place of Gold as Ester “Nenna” Willemse. She played leading roles in films Fiela Se Kind, Mama Jack, Treurgrond, and Vaselinetjie.
Circumstances of her death have not been disclosed by her family.
Veteran TV and theatre actress, Shaleen Surtie Richards passes on at age 66.

Shaleen is best known for her roles in Fiela se Kind (Fiela’s Child), Egoli: Place Of Gold, Supersterre, Loitering in Jozi, Rockville and Generations.
