CHINESE automaker Jetour will officially unveil its T1 and T2 SUV models at a launch event on 24 October, capitalizing on momentum that saw the brand crack South Africa’s top 12 passenger vehicle sales rankings just one year after local market entry.
The company recorded over 800 unit sales in September 2025, securing 12th position nationally and marking consistent month-on-month growth since its South African debut. The upcoming T-Series launch represents Jetour’s expansion beyond its current lineup as it targets the country’s expanding SUV segment.
“With the launch of our T-Series, we’re bringing a new level of rugged sophistication and advanced technology to South African drivers,” said Nic Campbell, Vice President of Jetour South Africa. “At Jetour, it’s not just about vehicles – it’s about creating experiences that connect with our customers and their lifestyle.”
The T1 is positioned as an “Urban Lite Off-road SUV” designed for city driving with weekend adventure capability, while the T2 targets the more rugged adventure SUV segment with enhanced off-road features for longer journeys.
Specifications and pricing remain under embargo until the 24 October event, though the company reports growing waiting lists for both models. The brand’s existing portfolio includes the Jetour T2 model, which features smart screens and spacious interiors aligned with the company’s “Travel +” strategy.
Jetour’s rapid market penetration follows a value-focused approach combining accessible pricing with technology features, targeting family-oriented buyers seeking vehicles capable of handling both urban environments and challenging terrain. The brand has established its dealer network and service infrastructure as part of its localization strategy.
The October launch will determine whether Jetour can maintain its growth trajectory in a competitive SUV market dominated by established Japanese, European, and South Korean manufacturers.
