LEGENDARY African football player Yaya Toure, who hung up his boots recently after an illustrious career during which he won many awards, has started a new phase of his life – as a football coach.
Toure has arrived in the Ukraine where he has joined the coaching staff at top club Olympic Donesk. “It’s great to be in the Ukraine to continue my coaching journey. Thank You to Olympic Donesk for the wonderful welcome. I am looking forward to passing my knowledge, helping the team and also continuing my learning here,” the former African Player of the Year said.
Toure, who played for Barcelona, Manchester City and his national team – The Elephants” – of Ivory Coast, said he was excited about his future in coaching.
“I would like to also say thanks again to those who have helped me over the last year with building my coaching experience and qualifications. Chris Ramsey at QPR, Stuart Jones at Blackburn and Geoff Lomax at PFA – thank you all. I’m excited about the future,” Toure.
