Christiano Ronaldo tests positive for COVID-19

WORLD football star and Portugal captain Christian Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Portugues Football Federation has announced that Ronaldo, who also plays for Italian giants Juventus, has gone into self-quarantine and will now miss his country’s next UEFA Nations League game against Sweden.

His last game was goalless draw on Sunday against France.

In a statement, the FPF said Ronaldo was doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.

“Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in the City of Football,” the statement said.

The game, for the qualification phase of the League of Nations, is scheduled for Wednesday.
