Yesterday, at a prayer meeting after Myeni’s remains arrived in SA, KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Social Development Nohlanhla Khoza said the US must hang its head in shame for the killing.

She called on US President Joe Biden and Barack Obama, the ex-US president, to make sure that Myeni killers were brought to justice.

According to a 911 audio recording obtained by ENCA television channel, the woman who called the police to report a burglar made it clear to the operator that Myeni was not armed and that he had introduced himself as Lindani from South Africa..

Footage from the body cam of the police officers, releasd soon after Myeni was gunned down, showed that the police officers only identified themselves after shots were fired.
