Two suspects in AKA murder case extradited from Eswatini

TWO men accused of murdering popular South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes are to be handed over to South African authorities after withdrawing their appeal against extradition from eSwatini, the Justice Ministry has announced.

Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande returned to South Africa on 11 November 2025 to face charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The pair fled to the neighbouring Kingdom of eSwatini after being sought in connection with the February 2023 killing of Forbes and his friend Tebello Motsoane outside a Durban restaurant. They had previously fought attempts to extradite them.

Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi confirmed receipt of the official extradition order, which was granted by eSwatini’s Acting Prime Minister after the suspects withdrew their appeal.

The South African Police Service will coordinate the handover through diplomatic and law enforcement channels. Court appearance details in KwaZulu-Natal will be confirmed upon their arrival.

The development brings Forbes’s family closer to justice nearly three years after the musician’s death shocked the nation.
