THE grim duty of recovering the remains of those who perished during a boating tragedy in Ethiopia continues. Nineteen people died during an accident in the Amhara region, Ethiopia’s northwest, when a vessel carrying at least 26 people capsized while crossing the Tekeze River. The river partially forms the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Seven individuals were rescued, according to local reports.
The boating tragedy follows another recent, much bigger disaster in Ethiopia, a landslide in the southern part of the country that claimed the lives of over 500 people.
